Arts & Heritage Volunteer
Hours: 4 hours per week (Wednesday mornings)
Location: St George’s Hospital Charity, St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London
We are recruiting two Arts and Heritage Volunteers who will assist with the day-to-day management of the art and heritage collection, with a focus on collection care and collection management. The Arts and Heritage Volunteers will work closely with the Art Collection Officer on tasks such as: collection auditing, updating interpretation labels for the artworks on display, and collections research.
This fixed term role is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the project ‘Our Hospital: conserving, curating and responding to St George’s Art and Heritage Collection.’ Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project focuses on conserving, cataloguing, reinterpreting and digitising St George’s unique Art and Heritage Collection so it can be enjoyed by many more people. ‘Our Hospital’ uses the collection to showcase the hospital’s impressive heritage, the diverse communities it serves, and the unheard stories of staff who have worked here, particularly those from under-represented groups.
This volunteering opportunity is anticipated to run from July 2026 to March 2027.

The Artists’ Collecting Society (ACS) is a London-based not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to the administration of intellectual property rights on behalf of artists and artists’ estates.
We are looking for a highly organised and adaptable individual who has the skills and capacity to undertake a variety of administrative tasks in a varied role. The candidate must be a positive individual who is flexible, takes initiative, possesses a ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to learn. They must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
As Assistant Artists Rights Administrator, you will work as part of ACS’s small and dynamic team, based in Notting Hill (currently a hybrid working system), to administer our members’ Artist’s Resale Right (ARR) and copyright, register new members and promote ACS, our services, our member artists and our prizes. You will also represent ACS at events.
The role is suited to an individual with both strong organisational and communication skills. You must be able to juggle a number of administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment, and you will always aim for the highest standards of service.
You must have a sharp attention to detail and have excellent written and verbal skills, necessary to administer data, attract new artists, forge and maintain relationships with galleries and arts institutions. You will also be a highly enthusiastic individual who can generate creative ideas both individually and as part of a team to engage new artists and existing members. In addition, you will need to be proficient with IT and be comfortable managing routine administrative tasks, including working on spreadsheets in Excel, fielding copyright requests and inputting information on a variety of software, including a custom database.
