HerÌýRoyalÌýHighness, The Princess Royal, visited The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ yesterday (12 June) in her role as Chancellor of the University of London to launch the Founders’ Circle, a prestigious new society to recognise benefactors who have made truly outstanding contributions to The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. The Founders’ Circle is named in honour of the institution’s three founders, who established The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in 1932 through their visionary philanthropy.
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s Märit Rausing Director, Professor Deborah Swallow, led HRH on a tour of The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Institute highlighting the many achievements since her last visit in 2008. The ChancellorÌýmet staff and students from across The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ andÌýwas given a presentation on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Connects, a transformational projectÌýthat will significantly redevelop The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s historic home at Somerset House.ÌýThe Princess Royal also recognised the contribution of several major patrons of The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ who were honoured as inaugural members of the Founders’ Circle.
