Fascinated by all things Baroque in Great Britain from the Restoration to the Georgians. ÌýMPhil from the RCA/V&A Conservation Course in 1994, published and lectured on Baroque mural techniques and materials. Since then I have enjoyed a successful research career specialising in systematic paint sample removal, microscopy, instrumental analysis and archival research to better understand the physical nature of the painted surface creating a synthesis of history and science to inform conservation practice. Now undertaking PhD research into materials, techniques and deterioration of British Baroque murals 1660 – 1740.
