Zine made during a free Young People’s Programme workshop exploring Sense of Self, which took place at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Gallery in May 2025.
What is a self-portrait? How do artists reveal their identity through self-portraiture? Working together as they explored the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Gallery, students debated these questions, analysing the similarities and contrasts between Van Gogh’s Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear and artworks by contemporary artist Rachel Jones, in relation to self-identity. At the end of the day, each created their own Sense of Self response in a variety of media.
