The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s much-loved permanent collection includes paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and decorative arts ranging from the Renaissance through to the 20th century.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Gallery, locatedÌýin the magnificentÌýhisorical setting of Somerset House in central London, is renowned for its remarkable group of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including the world-famous A Bar at the Folies Bergère by Édouard Manet, Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear by Vincent van Gogh and the most significant collection of works by Cézanne in the UK. These masterpieces are presented in the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Gallery’s spectacular LVMH Great Room, one of the largest spaces in Somerset House, alongside works by artists including Degas, Monet, Renoir, Seurat and more.

DuringÌýyour visit, discoverÌýhighlights fromÌý³Ù³ó±ðÌýÂé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýimportant collection of Medieval and Early Renaissance paintings and decorative arts, 20th-centuryÌýartÌýand the pioneering Bloomsbury Group.

On the second floor of the Gallery, you will find the elegant Blavatnik Fine Rooms;Ìýhighlights include Adam and Eve by Lucas Cranach the Elder, The Family of Jan Bruegel the Elder and The Descent From The Cross by Peter Paul Rubens, The Trinity with Saints altarpiece by Sandro Botticelli, and Landscape with a flight into Egypt by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

The Ruddock Family Gallery is dedicated to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s important collection of Medieval and Early Renaissance paintings and decorative arts. Rooms devoted to 20th century art and the Bloomsbury Group also showcase lesser-known areas of the collection through rotating displays.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s collection spans over 33,000 objects, and the permanent collection on display within the Gallery is under continuous review. Please note, this means that some collection artworks may not be on display during the time of your visit.

Permanent collection tickets allow you to discover three floors of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ collection, plus temporary displays in the Gilbert andÌýIldikoÌýButler Drawings Gallery and Project Space. Access to temporary exhibitions in the Denise Coates Exhibition Galleries on Floor 3 require an additional ticket.

GALLERY TALKS

Our free talks, led by our community of curators, students and researchers, take place in the Gallery and are an informal and interesting way of looking closely at artworks in our permanent collection.

If a talk is happening on the day of your visit, signage in the entrance hall will indicate the time and location, or please ask a member of our team.
